meditation

How can you keep yourself positive and calm? Meditation!

Mediation is an exercise for you mind , it will help you bring peace, be positive and balanced.
Meditation is about breathing; there are plenty of possibilities how to breathe.
But first, you will need to find a place where you feel good and safe, and where nobody will interrupt you.
You may light candles, incense, play some nice meditation music and sit in the pose most comfortable for you.
But don’t cross your legs or arms, it prevent energy circulation and you need energy running through your whole body.
I recommend the lotus pose, but if you find it uncomfortable or it is difficult to hold, there is no problem in finding another one.
Meditation has no specific standard, it is about feeling comfortable.
As you find the right place and time for your meditation, you may start. If you meditate for the first time, it is possible, you won’t be able to hold the meditation for longer than five minutes, but it really doesn’t matter,  soon it’ll be 10 minutes, 30 minutes, one hour and maybe longer.

How to breathe:

There are lot of breathing techniques and here are a few of them.
You may breathe through your mouth, but also through your nose, if it is more comfortable, or inhale trough the nose and exhale through your mouth.

- Inhale deeply and slowly through your throat , lungs and to your belly; then slowly exhale from your belly to the lungs and then your throat. When you are inhaling your belly should inflate and as you exhale your belly should deflate.
 Concentrate on your breathing.

*I like listening to music , and let my body move to the rhythm of it. It may also help you to concentrate better.*

- Take a short breath through the throat , lungs, belly, then a short exhale from your belly, lungs through the throat.

- Combine them, take a short inhale and long exhale, or vice versa.

Those are few of the classic breathing techniques. Of course there are many more.
But for the beginning, this is enough. :]

With practice you’ll soon be able to hold your meditation and clear your mind for a longer and longer time.
But don’t forget when you are meditating, your mind and body are situated in a different place, so don’t forget to properly end your meditation.
I use a counting system: when I decide I want to stop meditating, I tell myself
„I’m gonna count from ten to one and then I’ll no longer be meditating.”
Then start counting. When you reach one, remind yourself of where you are and what day it is, then slowly open your eyes. Sit for a minute or two and slowly absorb your return to reality. Then you are woken up. :]
While you meditate, you may see colors, pictures or smell something, hear something: every meditation is a different experience, but for me every one of them has been beautiful.

- Meditating is possible anywhere, not just in a silent place. You can meditate on a bus, tram, plane, when you are waiting for the doctor, when you work….
Just start breathing and stop thinking. Concentrate on your breath. If this is hard and you still have some thoughts on your mind, imagine your thoughts filling up bubbles inside your mind. As you exhale, imagine sending them out and away.
You can do this before you go to sleep, to clear your mind and have a peaceful night; or before an important meeting, if you are nervous, or simply in the middle of day, even if you are not stressed: let your brain rest for a while:]
Don’t forget: „You are not controlled by your mind, You are in control of your mind and thoughts!„
